Yours responsibilities

  • Your information is correct.
  • Your vessel is seaworthy.
  • You haven't anchored in False Creek for more than 14 days in the past 30 days, including the anchoring time covered by this permit, if the date of the permit is between April 1 and September 30.

Legal terms
  • I am responsible for safely anchoring my vessel.
  • When calculating any future anchoring time, I will be considered anchored for the entire duration of this permit.

  • If I remain at anchor beyond the 'departure date', I will be subject to enforcement action for non-compliance with sections 13 and 14 of the Vessel Operation Restriction Regulations pursuant to the Canada Shipping Act, 2001, including fines and towing.
  • If my vessel is towed as part of any enforcement action, my vessel will not be released until I have paid all towing and moorage or storage costs. If I don't fully pay these costs within 90 days of removal, the City of Vancouver may sell my vessel to recover these costs or, if the City is unable to sell my vessel because it is of little or no value, the City may destroy my vessel.
  • I will indemnify Transport Canada, its employees, delegates, and agents, including the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Police Department, and their employees and agents, for any damages or other costs they may incur that arise from my anchoring in False Creek.
  • Transport Canada, its employees, delegates, and agents, including the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Police Department, and their employees and agents, are not responsible under any circumstances for injuries, damages, or other losses arising from my anchoring in False Creek.
