Description

The Food Literacy group has created a habitat for pollinators and further expanded their
worm composting program. They created mason bee houses and planted pollinator-friendly
plants and with creating composting classrooms. These bee-friendly dwellings were activated in the parkette beside the school's garden. This project included in-class worm composting bins that were brought into
the neighbourhood accessible garden in the warmer months (April-September)
and created a three-bin composting system for the worms to “do their
work” and create the high-quality compost for the school gardens.
