Description

Building on existing community interest in St. George Creek, participants learned how to build a structure (cob bench) using organic and reclaimed materials to mark the historic spawning ground. Special activities such as seed ball making and drawing salmon outlines on protective tarps ensured even younger kids could contribute. There were flyers for each event and an email list got regular updates. The VSOS worked closely with Kivan Boys and Girls Club, St. George Rainway, The Native Education Centre, Mudgirls, Mount Pleasant Family Centre, residents and members of the Robson Park Community Garden.
