Description

Grade 6 children at Norquay Elementary School provided more than 50 drawings of water related creatures after discussing environmental issues relating to, and the importance of, a clean environment and water. Youth, adults and seniors transformed these drawings into lively and colourful droplet shaped mosaic tiles. Collaboration was the core value for the project. The original designs created by the children passed through the hands of diverse community members and each individual mosaic gradually evolved through different stages of development from workshop to workshop and person to person. People engaged in drawing with colours, line work on concrete bases, and breaking tiles that were eventually arranged as mosaic designs for installation in the park.
