Description

This project involved the mentoring of five other artists in the process of creating a large community pebble mosaic, from design through workshop facilitation to installation. The artists worked with approximately 300 residents from the Downtown Eastside/Strathcona area, including school groups, interested neighbours, and street-involved people in Oppenheimer Park. These participants executed most of the mosaic work by following the highly elaborate design, laying pebbles into forms, which were cast into concrete slabs by the mentored team.
