Rich received her master's degree in Design for the Environment from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London, in 1999. She has since initiated and coordinated a number of projects involving public participation through stories and art workshops, including the Millennium project 2000 for the City of Vancouver and the Discovery Project in SE Vancouver. She was Project Coordinator for Art in the Park, Hastings Community Center, 1998, and participated in the Surrey Art Gallery 25th Anniversary project WHY2Kare.org. She was Artist in Residence at Neighbourhood House, Seattle, Wa., in 2003.
