Description

With public involvement from community members and support from local businesses, Sunset Mosaics Committee designed and constructed 5 5X5 foot mosaics, 4 of which were installed on Fraser Street in the sidewalks and one of which will be mounted on one of Moberly Cultural and Art Center's outdoor walls. It was a community project which included community involvement of people from 10 to 87 years of age from all cultural backgrounds. The community was involved in ideas for designs and the construction of the mosaics. Design ideas and concepts represented the neighbourhood's history, geography and cultural diversity. The goal of Sunset Mosaics committee's project was to build community pride and involvement.
