Falaise, Collingwood and Slocan ParksDescription
Falaise, Collingwood and Slocan Parks are well used playgrounds throughout the year. All three parks have concrete water drinking fountains near the wading pool and, over time, the concrete had chipped in various spots. The project involved installing high quality glass tiles onto the concrete surface of the fountain. The bottom step of Slocan's fountain was decorated with colourful, non-slippery porcelain tiles. The beautiful fountains encourage park users to drink Vancouver water from the colorful mosaic fountains. It brings joy to see the transparent colours of the glass tiles and brings happiness to the playground and wading pool areas. Renfrew Park Community Centre Youth Council members and Collingwood Neighbourhood House youth members were actively involved in working with Yoko to design and install the glass tiles in the summer of 2009.Medium/discipline of Project
