Description

Working with artist Richard Tetrault, community members developed designs around the theme of "What Britannia means to me." Community outreach involved organizations and individuals who have contributed to, and graduated from, nearby Britannia Secondary School, with their stories and achievements commemorated into the mural. Richard then worked with students from Britannia's baccalaureate program to integrate the community's designs into a final maquette. The students did the actual painting under the artist's supervision, thereby gaining valuable experience. This mural was one of four that formed part of the Eastside Mural Projects: www.eastsidemurals.com
