Permit to anchor is available for a maximum of 14 days out of 30 during the summer (April 1 to September 30) and a maximum of 21 days out of 40 in the winter (October 1 to March 31). If you have recently anchored in False Creek, but not for the maximum allowable time, another permit to anchor is available to you up to the maximum allowable time period.

Yes, I certify that:

1. the above information is correct;

2. my vessel is seaworthy;

3. if the date of this permit is between April 1 and September 30, I have not anchored in False Creek for more than 14 days in the previous 30 days, including the anchoring period in this permit; and

4. if the date of this permit is between October 1 and March 31, I have not anchored in False Creek for more than 21 days in the previous 40 days, including the anchoring period in this permit.

Yes, I acknowledge and agree that:

1. I am responsible for safely anchoring my vessel;

2. in the event that I leave the False Creek anchorage earlier than the 'Departure date', I am responsible for returning this permit to the Vancouver Boating Welcome Centre or self-registration kiosk. If I fail to do this, I will be considered to have been at anchor for the duration of this permit for the purpose of calculating any future anchoring time;

3. I will not anchor in False Creek beyond the 'Departure date' on this permit;

4. this permit will be null and void if any of the information I have provided is incorrect;

5. if I remain at anchor beyond the 'Departure date', I will be subject to enforcement action for non-compliance with sections 13 and 14 of the Vessel Operation Restriction Regulations pursuant to the Canada Shipping Act, 2001, including fines and towing;

6. in the event that my vessel is towed as part of any enforcement action, my vessel will not be released until I have paid all associated towing and moorage or storage costs. If I have not fully paid such costs within 90 days of removal, the City of Vancouver may sell my vessel to recover such costs or, if the City is unable to sell my vessel because it is of little or no value, the City may destroy my vessel;

7. I will indemnify Transport Canada, its employees, delegates and agents, including the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Police Department and their employees and agents, for any damages or other costs they may incur that arise from my anchoring in False Creek; and

8. Transport Canada, its employees, delegates and agents, including the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Police Department and their employees and agents, are not responsible under any circumstances for injuries, damages or other losses arising from my anchoring in False Creek.
